This is not an easy thing to start ( a personal care home or assisted living facility) but it can be done with perseverance. The best thing to do is to find someone who is doing it in your area and ask if you can volunteer. maybe you can do their books, help to clean, run errands or file. This will help you to establish a relationship with the owner and possibly get a mentor out of it. The owner will share specific information with you that will guide you. This will help a great deal when you understand exactly how to do this in your specific area. build trust with the owner and let them know your intentions or they may feel duped if you end up being their competition. Every county or city has it’s own rules which may not be the same as the State’s rules. You’re responsibility is to meet all of their requirements. That’s why getting the advice and assistance from someone who has already gone through this process will save you a lot of time, energy and money. Some owners will not want to be forthcoming with information especially to a stranger. That’s why volunteerign may be a way to get the information you need to succeed.
